There you have it. A lovely outfit that accentuates my tall, willowy figure. This is speech at swearing in. The Batie market (marché) is today if I have counted correctly (it happens every 8 days.....huh?). I'm going to check it out. I hear it is small and doesn't offer much more than you can find in the shacks in carrefour Batie (this one is at the carrefour Tshomso up the road a piece...still Batie village) but it is a good way to make contact with other Batie residents. Batie is so spread out due to it's agricultural nature and has 5 carrefours. This will be only the second one I have visited so far. I shall refrain from wearing this lovely outfit this time. A la prochaine...

Hi Pam, It's so great to read your posts. I am learning so much from what you write that I would never otherwise be aware of. Keep up with the good work. I think we are sending a package soon so I'll see if I can find some fun things to do when you get "stuck inside" due to the rain. Keep the info coming. You are totally my hero right now! Take care. Carol.
ReplyDeleteOk. Case closed. You are awesome... Just sayin'

Hola! OMG...the rat story with little feet is amazing. Yuck!!!! Happy to read about the new paint job and recovered furniture! I admire greatly your tenacity and patience in getting out and integrating yourself into the community. Everyone who knows you loves you! Thanks for all the photos and blogs. Sending you lots of love with a big hug, Argentina Ann
ReplyDeleteHola Pammy! Wonderful news to hear the house got painted and looks nice. I loved reading about the fabulously fun time you had at the funeral party and that your network of friends in Batie continues to expand. Have fun with your Peace Corps friends coming for a visit soon which sounds like an extra special occasion to celebrate. Pat and Ray Crist arrive in Buenos Aires this morning for a week's visit. I am looking forward to seeing them and to showing them around Buenos Aires and many of my favorite places to visit throughout the city. Besos y un abrazo fuerte, Argentina Ann
